ABOUT

Kinver Light Operatic Society are an award-winning amateur dramatics society based in Kinver. We are a very busy society as we perform twice a year, a musical in May and a pantomime in December.

HISTORY

Kinver Light Operatic Society (KLOS) was formed in 1977 and was the brainchild of the late Les Pursey (at the time a mathematics teacher at Edgecliff School and a brilliant musician in his own right) and Ann Benbow, under the chairmanship of the late Dr Dennis Elllis. Our first production was "The King and I" in September of that year (repeated in 2005), followed by "The Sound of Music" in May 1978 (repeated in 2012). Our main shows have continued in May ever since.

From relatively small beginnings we have developed into one of the most active groups in the district, presenting not only a musical in May but also a Pantomime in December.

We are affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Society (NODA), which, as an organisation gives help and support to amateur societies.
