FAQ

What do I have to do to join the society?

  • Visit our New Members page and download the Application Form.

  • Fill in the Application Form and forward it to our Membership Secretary (membership.klos@outlook.com)

  • You will then be contacted and invited to audition for the Society

  • For the audition, you will need to sing a song of your choice and read a piece of libretto (script) from 'Guys and Dolls' which you will be given once your audition has been confirmed

  • We will then inform you whether you have been successful in joining our society

 

How much are the subscriptions per year?

 

Fees for 2020/21 will be

  • Adults £25.00

  • Family £40.00

  • Students 16 and above in full time education £15.00

  • PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP.  Children still at school up to the end of year 11 need to be part of a family membership

 

How many members are there?

 

At present there are 97 members made up of adults and family membership

 

On which nights does the company rehearse?

 

The company rehearses on Monday and Wednesday evenings usually 7 - 10  with Sunday rehearsals nearer to the show date

 

How much does it cost to put on a show?

 

This depends on the show being produced. The costs can range from £20,000 to approximately £30,000

 

What is required of members?

 

Members who are on stage will be required to pay a nominal show fee per production currently £15.  This is due at the first rehearsal. Members on stage are required to sell a minimum of 10 tickets per production.

 

Who decides which shows we put on?

 

The general committee decides which shows are performed each year, but we encourage the membership to put shows forward for consideration.
